RYLA

“Our goal is to engage students (whether they are in public, private, vocational high schools or home-schooled) in our District through leadership programs and mentorship to become more actively engaged in community service.  This mentorship program extends to all RYLA alumni (high school, university, and real-world) that commit to supporting Rotary’s programs and to continually develop and refine their leadership skills.  The ultimate hope is to create the next generation of leaders.”

Together with their Rotarian advisors, the Alumni develop a weekend filled with engaging speakers, thought provoking workshops, seminars and the ever popular ropes course.  Every RYLA includes the following topics:

  • Fundamentals of leadership
  • Ethics of positive leadership
  • Importance of communication skills in effective leadership
  • Problem-solving and conflict management
  • Building self confidence and self-esteem
  • Elements of community service and global citizenship

The RYLA Weekend is free to all participants who are selected by a Rotary Club to attend.   Please note that the RYLA weekend is a full commitment for all – and all students are required to attend the entire weekend – our event kicks off around 1pm on Friday and will end around 4:30pm on Sunday.

The application is can be downloaded from our home page.
